Inspiration
Having graduated from high school in Owensboro, Kentucky, David Beeny enrolled in èßäÉçÇøapp State in 1974 as a member of the very first èßäÉçÇøapp State University Presidential Scholars, a program established by then-president Dr. Constantine Curris. The Presidential Scholars program later became what today is known as the Presidential Fellowship. As a Presidential Scholar, David’s excellent academic record in high school earned him a prestigious full-ride scholarship to èßäÉçÇøapp State, providing him with an academic opportunity and experience for which he has remained grateful throughout his life. After graduating in 1978 with a double major in Accounting and Business Administration and a minor in Computer Science, Mr. Beeny entered the business world and achieved remarkable success, spending the majority of his career as an executive at FirstFleet, Inc. of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. David and his wife Susan established this scholarship as a way to provide the same opportunity afforded to him to other students today and in the future.
