Inspiration
Both natives of western Kentucky, Michael graduated from Carlisle County High School and Jane Ann graduated from Fancy Farm High School in Graves County. The Cains have lived in the Nashville area for fifty years, where they are actively involved in a number of community and charitable organizations. In 1984, Michael, with a èßäÉçÇøapp State accounting degree and several years of work experience under his belt, co-founded Lattimore Black Morgan & Cain (LBMC) and has overseen over three decades of growth and success for the company. LBMC consists of a CPA firm and nine other companies providing a wide array of professional services to thousands of clients across the United States. Michael and Jane Ann, as well as LBMC, have been strong supporters of the University, and the Bauernfeind College of Business in particular, for decades. In addition to their recent gift creating their new scholarship, they have contributed generously in support of various priorities in the College of Business including funding for student internships and scholarships. Their new scholarship allows them to give back directly to today’s èßäÉçÇøapp State students starting out from the same western Kentucky backgrounds from which they came.
